Should they be brightly coloured like Yellow or Red??
I'm quite taken by the new Musto range in Black and Grey, but concerned if in the water would it be harder to spot me, or is most of the jacket under water, and its only the hood and lifejacket that would be seen!!

Opinions Please.

Cheers

Alistair.

just bougt a Musto jacket. The red one. You are absolutly right the hood is a very bright yellow, and of course the lifejacket would also be yellow or orange. Just make sure that you are wearing the lifejacket when you go over.

I agree safety first, but your lifejacket (when inflated) will be a bright colour, and I'm guessing you're not planning any blue water cruising, so I'd get the jacket you like the look of.

Blatant plug, sorry... Have a look at the Baltic Bergen jackets, they have built in buoyancy and reflective patches/piping and they come in three colours.

I use one and it is the best foul weather jacket I have ever had, honestly. [/advertising] /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi,

Pulled a couple of people out of the water last night (nothing exciting just normal safety boat duties) - thought about your question: its the lifejacket you see....so I guess must remember to wear one. I have a grey Musto for non-winter wear, seems great to me.

cheers,
