Are you chartering? If so it is worth getting in touch with base which will be able to give you some suggested itineraries.
I had 2 weeks from Phuket with Sunsail 4 years ago. You can read about it in Thai Break, Miles Kendall in Thailand, Jun 2000 p94.

In general, if you go north the sea is murkier but you are in a stunning natural park. Go east and south and there is clearer water and stunning beaches. A bit of both is quite possible in a week.
