Nelson are offering me a good deal on a two week bearboat in North Aegean, looks very nice and less crowded than the Ionian.

Anyone been in this area and has any comments. Also what would be the best pilot book

Thanks as always.

Had a week there with Neilson last year, didn't like it much so going back for 2 weeks this year:D
Seriously it's lovely and much less crowded than the Ionian and as for pilot books, all Neilson boats have the relevant Heikell guide on board. Enjoy.

Also considering this holiday - just a couple of questions for those who've been there before:
1. Some of the info on their site gave the impression that quite a few nights (on a one-week flotilla) would be spent at anchor. Is that the case? (I think I'd prefer to be able to step ashore and amble to a taverna!)
2. How's the weather and water temperature likely to be in May?

Advice appreciated!

The week we went the flotilla anchored twice, once they all cooked on board, the other time they anchored in a bay with a taverna and most went to that.

We took the option of going bareboat but the flotilla were very happy for us to leave/join in as we wanted. We went and moored on town quay/marina on those 2 nights. If you want to do this you MUST organise it before you leave the UK as they give you extra gear on the boat etc.
This year we'll be doing the same, but the 2nd week apparently involves more anchoring. Enjoy, it's a lovely area.:)
