Looking for something to while away those winter nights? The read on!

During our three years living aboard our Moody 40 centre cockpit sailing yacht (2001 to 2004), I had many hours where I had absolutely nothing to do, so to occupy my time, I thought I would write about our sailing experiences.

Our first boat, bought in 1995, was a 28ft Mirage named Tranquillity.
We learned to sail in her on the river Mersey. We kept her for just over a year & then a particularly bad experience returning from the Isle of Mann persuaded us to get something with more shelter.
So of all things we bought a Fisher 28ft “Cat Fisher”, which we re-named Gemini Magic. We soon realised we had made a big mistake & after 9 months sold her and bought a Westerly Griffon named Eclipse..

Our experiences are recorded in the first book Tranquillity Eclipsed.
111 low resolution pictures, 167 pages 36,000 + words..

The second book is named “Eclipse to the Millennium”, which relates our 3 years of adventures with Eclipse a 26ft Westerly Griffon. Including voyages to the Isle of Mann & Southern Ireland. We had decided to take early retirement & live aboard a suitable boat, somewhere warm. It also includes details of searching for a suitable liveaboard boat in the UK & America.
235 low resolution pictures, 344 pages,69,000 + words.

The third book was written as we were living the dream of living in our boat, somewhere warm & is called “Corsica to the Costa's” and relates the story of all the trials and tribulations of buying our Moody 40 in 2001, re-named Magic Moods, in Corsica, getting her fit to travel to Spain, via France, spending 3 months in Toulon, almost losing her in a storm in St Cyprian, finding & fitting a new engine & finally arriving in Aguadulce Costa Del Sol in June the following year.
193 pictures. 268 pages, 52,000 + words.

The final book “Homeward Bound”, relates the story of our 12 months stay in Spain, upping anchor & moving to Portimao Portugal & after 12 months, an aborted attempt to sail back to the UK with a scratch crew. Finally selling the boat & moving back to the UK.
183 pictures 233 pages, 46,000 + words.

The books are available in PDF format for reading on a PC Mac or the latest E readers compatable with PDF files. They are set out with double spaced lines to make them easy to read.

The two main books have also been synopsised into Audio Visual format (posh name for slide shows) complete with musical sound track & voice over. These are available as Exe files for use on a PC or Mac.

All this obviously has a cost, that's the easy part.

Costs are as follows:
Any one of the books in PDF format as an internet download £2.50

All four of the books in PDF format as an internet download £8.00

Any one of the two AV shows (Corsica to the Costas, play time 61 minutes, 510 pictures, or Homeward Bound, play time 56 minutes, 457 pictures.)

These books and AV shows set are between 1995 & 2004, are suitable for all ages, and tell it like it was, no holds barred. They are ideal for anyone contemplating buying a boat in the UK or USA, or living aboard in the Med'. Ideal Christmas or Birthday present.
Warning, if you are trying to persuade your reluctant partner to buy a boat, don't buy these.
