We are heading to Germany to share a canal boat at the invitation of old friends in mid June. We have time to arrive a few weeks to a month earlier and are considering chartering a yacht for a week to 14 days beforehand in Poland.
Any advice from members here?
I have never been to Germany or Poland having visited both the UK and southern Europe on several occasions.
My yacht down here in Australia is a Polish built Imexus 28 trailer sailer which has been upgraded to be capable of long term liveaboard style cruising.
I would propose to visit the Imexus factory and makers whilst in Poland as well.
I have sailed for over 50 years and chartered several times in The Whitsundays here in Australia so have some reasonable experience and would only be looking at a small mono as there is just myself and partner.

Well further to my original post we have hired a 26 foot yacht very similar in size yet vastly more basic than my Imexus 28 for two weeks sailing in the Mansurian Lake district of Poland.
We are booked for the middle two weeks of August. It could be an interesting experience which I will report back on.
Very cheap at under £ 1,000 ( actually under A$2,000 ) for the rental so it will be interesting what we get for the money.
Not much I fear but it is relatively new and popular yacht and in prime peak season and booked remotely through a third party accumulator website.
We are just a couple and it is rated for 4/6 😂 but we have found with our very similar sized layout and size Imexus 28 that 4 is pretty cramped on this size yacht. Maybe ok as a family.
My partner has now banned me inviting friends for weekends/week sails in our yacht as she finds it’s just too squishy sharing the small space.
