I am just getting a tender for my new Swift Trawler 42. Does anyone have any experience of the Walker Bay Sailing and RIB combined tender - see below Walker Bay tender
Hi - I've got the smaller one, about 8ft I think. In my opinion the perfect combination. Motors well with 2hp, although can take more I think - fine with 3 adults + dog.
Sails well enough too though I have got the bigger rig and the tubes. Slight weatherhelm in anything over a 4, but hey, what do you expect?
I would have liked the larger one but it would have been too long for the davits on the P360. Be aware that it's very 'beamy' so you will need decent davits with long arms.
One mod that I made was to add an aditional motor mount on the port side of the transom - this means I can sail it and keep the outboard attached just in case.
If you want to PM me an email address, I'll see if I can send you a short video taken a couple of months ago.
Cheers
Thanks. The ST 42 stow the dinghy "up top" and uses a single point lift from a boom so the beam should not be a problem. Great comments and I will PM my email.
