Have been unable to use the boat for various reasons all winter...

Yesterday managed to get out into the Stour for a couple of hours and had an actual sail.

I know the feeling! The weather has been awful in the UK this winter and the main problem (for me anyway) is waiting for half-way decent weather to coincide with the times that I can go sailing. As everyone says, you really need to be retired to get the most out of boating!
 
Just finished rearranging the shed, cleared the patio, will move the Yamaha into the shed a bit later, ready for the continuation of the restoration.
Good days work for me, so I deserve a beer.

Saw you leaving the marina, it was a lovely day for it. Today was probably even nicer, but I've been shifting 2 tons of horse poo and having a long pub lunch with family (with a shower in between, I hasten to add).

Were out today.
Would say sailing, but it was more like drifting with sails up.
Landguard - Cork Sands took just under 2 hours.
Bliss - had a couple of beers and spent some 'quality time' with the offspring (eldest home from Uni for the WE).
Summer can not be far off.

To those who enjoyed the day afloat I have one thing to say but I'm not sure if 'raspberry' really conveys the message
Had a nightmare trip down the M11 where traffic ground to a standstill, then cross country to Braintree for a quick turnaround and the trip back
So close, so close and yet so far
 
Saturday fitted new heads outlet skin fitting, sea cock and pipework, then went sailing with a mate 'while the sikaflex cured'. Including all day breakfast at Halfpenny pier. Big Grin.

Sunday changed annodes, anti-fouled, home to daughters for politically correct Sunday dinner. I seem to have had a high achieving Weekend :)

PS, been down to look at the teak decks on Rose of Wight (Tradewinds of this parish). What a top job Nigel...... you can do my decks any time!

This is why we're moving. Lovely day and I get few weekend days off as it is; we spent yesterday changing the engine oil because the tides were carp. Fox's here we come - 35 mins door to door and no tidal access issues.

It was an impromptu thing - was on the fuel pontoon and the lock called to us... no headsail bent on, so a reach up and down the river on the main; but still - it was good to get out
