Sailfish 18

I am looking for my first boat and will be viewing a sailfish 18 at the weekend (01/09). This is not only my 1st boat but 1st viewing. I would be grateful of any advice on what to look for generally when buying a boat and specifically for the sailfish from anybody who has owned one.
I want to spend upto £4000 is it worth having a survey, if yes how much can i expext to pay.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try www.trail-sail.org.uk, some of their members have Sailfish 18s and can probably give you some advice.
