Sail rinse n\'dry

What is your favourite ploy for washing the salt from sails while off the boat... and then getting them dry?

I had to get the sails off at the weekend and with a high winds there was no way I could leave them up for a hose down and blow-dry. So I took them home and have since been trying to work out a way of giving them a rinse. I hung them off a tree last year... the tree will take off if I try that again.
The best I can think of is to hang them as best as I can in the garage.
Any ideas? I want them completely dry sans salt before bagging.

Give them to Hoods in Lymington - they'll wash them for nothing provided you pay for [half] an hours servicing time. Money well invested since they tell you what needs to be fixed.

(You dont have to pay them to fix it).

We're through the worst of it now....Gybe Ohhhhh..!

I usually hang mine in the garden, well hosed down and hopefully dried. I did mine 10 days ago - it was a lovely day and managed both the mainsail & genoa. Other years I haven't been so lucky and had to leave theem to dry in the garage for a few days. Stll got to do the spinnaker & storm jib though...

On my last boat, where the sails were of a manageable size, I used to let them soak in the bath for a bit then hang them between the bathroom window and the garden fence.
With current boat, I took the main and mizzen off a couple of weekends back then took them to the laundrette. The main just fits into the industrial size machine and the mizzen into a standard size machine. Then 50p worth in the dryer and a week in the airing cupboard. The Genoa is a different story, got to pay (by weight) to have it done professionally.

I do mine in the bath and arrange some clothes horses and other supports next to the bath so I can dry them section by section. Takes a couple of days so you either need two bathrooms or dont mind not having a bath.
