sail repairs Kent/Essex

Have a slight unravelling of foot etc. of jib after sailing in very strong winds...anyone know of a reasonable place I can get it resewn fairly quickly? It may need slight patching as well. The boat is at Gillingham at the moment but anywhere in Nth Kent, South London or Essex would do.Many thanks.

Brightlingsea has James Lawrence Sailmakers - they specialist in "classic working boat sails" but may be able to help.

Wilkinson Sails have a loft in Burnham [01621 786770] but main loft is in Faversham. Don't Know number for that .

Wilkinsons at COnyer did the main, stakpack, sprayhood, dodgers, tiller cover..... before we bought Amber. Top quality work.

Wilkinsons Sails are at Conyer Wharf, Teynham, Kent ME9 9HR tel: 01795 521503. They have had an excellent reputation in the past, but made a real dogs dinner of a sail alteration for me last year. I've heard other recent customers complain of off-hand treatment or delays getting work done. So possibly some caution required. I've switched to Northrop Sails of 29 Military Rd, Ramsgate, tel: 01843 851665, for repairs recently: no complaints so far.
