Can anyone please recommend a good sail repairer in Essex. I would favour Burnham or Maldon area.

I had a great day out on the Blackwater today but the conditions took their toll on my tired genoa which is now shedding its UV protection strip. I had hoped it would survive the season but sadly not.

Grateful for any recommendations.

Had my UV strip done by Gowen's here at West Mersea during the winter. Nice job. You must have had a blustery day out there today. There was some strength in the wind from time to time

There is a chap in Tollesbury who works further up the road (towards town) in a loft opposite the white sail lofts which are on your left as you head away from town. I have never used him and sorry cant remember his bname or the company name. I an remember however talking to himn a few years back about this very things. I seem to remember he quoted £10/m all in. He was a very nice chap.

The number you gave me is actually for Lonton and Gray sailmakers in Burnham. They currently have my sail and and have undertaken to repair on or before Friday. I'll let the forum know the outcome. Thanks to all for the feedback. Have I had a lucky escape with regard Wikinsons?

This is a new one. I've always had the very best service from Dolphin. Maybe not the cheapest, but great quality. Gave them my dirty old genoa to service during the winter, it came back perfectly clean and with several small repairs. £75. Seems okay to me.
