Does anybody have a plan for a sail cover. My current one (very old and tired) goes straight along the boom but does not secure around the mast properly. Anybody have any dimensions ??

Dimensions will probably depend on the size of boat and length of boom

Boat is 22ft and boom is a tiny 2metres

I presume you're thinking of a DIY solution. If so, you could go down to the boat with the old cover, some scrap material, a load of pins and some scissors.
Add scrap material to the bit that should go round the boom and trim to shape, making allowance for the hems and seams. Go home and unstitch the old cover until it's in its constituent parts. You now have a pattern for your new tailor made sail cover and, having taken the old one apart, you'll know how the new one goes together.

I downloaded one a while ago from PointsNorth, a fabric supplier. I can't find it on their web site any more, but PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. It's a 2 page MS Word document.

Our E Boat has a main sail cover which goes around the mast I'll measure it up for you. It's also very tired so interested to know how SWMBO gets on making the new one.

OK now got the cover on the dining room floor, somehow it seems bigger now.
If you imagine it on the boat the bit that goes around the mast is 500mm at the top when done up and the full length from end of the boom to the front of the mast where it joins up is 2300mm in length.
The height up the front of the mast is 700mm with hooks on one side & eyes on the other.
If that is a carp description please let me know and I'll attempt to clarify any dimentions.

Thanks Eboat126 much appreciated, all makes sense to me. As you said earlier always looks larger in doors. I needed to measure the No. 1 Genoa last year /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif great fun not.!!
