Does anybody know of a company in the sail cleaning busines that I can deal direct with, as opposed to agents that send them off.
I have some newish sails, that where left on the boat over winter by the previouse owner. They are very green in places and I feel they need special treatment. When I had sails cleaned on my last boat I was very disapointed with the results and these were not very soiled. I felt I had no redress with the company I sent them to, as they were only agents.
I can take them anywhere on the south coast.

After similar thread last week, I decided it was time to tackle my main (Sadler 29)....in the bath. (Had to wait until SWMBO away for a day in London!!).

It was last cleaned professionally around 10 years ago and seriously dirty. I used 4 washing tablets in half a bath of water at the right temperature to confortably stand in. Soaked it for an hour; trod it for five minutes; repeated this three times; rinsed in same fashion twice; left to drain for an hour; took to the line to dry.

One nice clean sail! ... doesn't look 20 years old!

What I would do (not necessarily the best way) is to lay out on a flat surface outside. Spot clean with detergent rinse thoroughly with a hose then hang to dry. That is if you really need to do anything. Mostly I go sailing and hope for rain occasionally ie do nothing will.
