All,

Coming up to the first time I'll get my new crusing laminate sails cleaned.

I don't know much about the subject other than pressure washers are used extensively. Having had one quote at £3.50 per Kg I'm not convinced that is anywhere near value for money.

Has anybody any experience of Novosail? Seems an interesting concept.

I have read the previous thread about using the bath tub, but my luff is about 18m so not really an option! And my garden isn't big enough and the weather not agreeable enough to keep the mud off.

Much appreciate your thoughts.

I would talk to Bainbridge then a make a decision as to clean or not to clean. Certainly any amount of undue handling of laminate sails will shorten thier life, it may be the case that they will last longer and set better if they're dirty.

I know the skipper of an Oyster 72, who recommended Novosail highly. He has cruising laminate sails

I used Novosail last year but not for laminates. The results were certainly much better than I used to get from the place in Porstmouth that most of the local sailmakers use, particularly the removal of various stains. the process also includes an anti mildew treatment.
