Sail Cleaners

I have a couple of dirty patches on my genoa near the leach which I think are due to the dirty rain we tend to get in Portsmouth Harbour. I don't really want to go to the expense of having the whole sail laundered as they are quite small and the rest of the sail is quite clean, so I am contemplating trying to spot clean them.

I see both Star Brite and Boat Buddy do a sail cleaner, does anyone have experience of these? Also I still have some "Pink Stuff" left, might this tackle the issue?

My mainsail suffered bird poo stains along the foot when they roosted in the stack pack. A heavy dose of Vanish and 24 hour soak in the bath cleaned it enough for me.

Sail in torrential rain. Cleans and and washes it ? and it's environmental friendly.

See my post #15 here: Sail laundering. I used Biotex on the whole sail but it would work well on patches.

We soak our in warm water with white vinegar and Woollite then rinse off in clear water .
If the stain is well in you may have to use some thing else's
