Sail 8 - shipping channels

Whatever you think about the actual aims of Live 8; you've got to admire Bob Geldof's get up and go.

His ability to motivate people would be an attribute I'd like a bit more of.

Anyway, if he does motivate large numbers of sailors to go across the channel on a given day, I have serious concerns about shipping channels.

On the occasions I've gone across it's not usually been too difficult but you do have to be on your toes.

However, what if he get 5000 or 10,000 yachts going across? All at the same time!

Well - if we can do nearer the 10000 we could just span the channel and let everyone walk across ... will interupt shipping for a bit, but I'm sure they'll accept that it is in a good cause .!!
