If you are looking at the Aegean try Thassos.

all then island given are very nice but july aug is not a good time full of charters and boats from italy thou they allways a bay some were you can find....

Undoubtedly Paxos, or Cephalonia. maybe even Ithika. Come to think of it they're all fairly fabulous. Why limit yourself?

Wonderful scenery, hospitable people, safe harbour with friendly marine guard. good food, lots of other nice islands within easy reach.
