Just received a very competitive quotation from SAGA , £300.00 lower than my usual Insurer.
Read the Policy Document thoroughly and all appears to be ok and well covered. Does anyone have any experience of Insuring through SAGA ? Thanks

Used them for a few years now, never had to make a claim though, so time will tell.

same as Halcyon. 5 years, and very flexible if you add or change e.g. a dinghy or outboard.

And you get through to a real live person on the help line !

A couple of things you may want to check (you may already have!) Are you covered for leaving the boat at anchor when you're not there (ie on the beach) and the location requirements for fire extinguishers (if any)
Insurance companies are usually happy to endorse these type of requirements but now's the best time to ask.

I suggest you get a quote from Pantaenius too, as a comparison. When I checked, a while ago admittedly, P were cheaper than SAGA and preferable on all counts as far as I could tell. Mind you, I have not had to make a claim, though their reputation is good.

SAGA are excellent, easy to deal with and paid out £23000 that I claimed promptly.

I'm with SAGA and they have very competitive quotes, but like others I havent made a claim not like "Mucky Farter" touch wood and I know where to find loads of it

There have been some on here that say look at this and look at that...........I havent found anything wrong with my quote and I wish somebody would tell me what is wrong with a SAGA insurance instead of check this and that!

OK rant over!

-- Raggie alert --Just visiting this forum and saw this thread.

We are with SAGA. Never claimed but found them easy to deal with so far. Few enough staff that if you have to call a few times over the same issue they remember you! Good cruising area - right down to La Rochelle (not just Brest like many others we looked at). Were happy about extending cover for a Biscay crossing with only two on board.

Have seen a few posts in the past along the lines of "watch SAGA, read condx carefully" but could never get any specifics when I pressed.

Was with Saga for 2 yrs prior to this one. Seemed fine but got a cheaper quote this year from one of the "big boys" and have slightly better cover IIRC.
