While reaching flotation suits I came across this website it may be of interest to some of you. www.seasurvival.ca/uploads/2/9/2/5/.../lifejacket_report_sr587.pdf
Sorry do not know how to do links. On previous posts some of you have got or going to get a Fladen flotation suit depending on which one you get they are not all water proof just water resistant. Out of interest I am going for one of the Mullion suits.

I felt so guilty when we launched the club's safety boat with me aboard whilst others waded chest deep to float her off the trailer, that I have now bought a surface drysuit, which I intend to wear with a thermal undersuit and lifejacket over it. In fact it looks like I'll be wearing it even to row the dinghy out to the boat once this snow clears away (cold, old bones). In the instructions, it suggests that one should squat to expell excess air, venting at the neck. I'm told that excess air inside the suit can float you head down...!

Rob.

I've been away for a week and hoped they would have fixed it by now :(

No been banned by Time Warner apparently. Something done deliberately , not a glitch to fix.

I guess for the same reason you cannot post clickable thumbnails from P'bucket any more

The Mullion Atlantic was developed by a Drilling company in Scotland along with Mullion and used on their rigs world wide. This was many years ago. I saw folk working on the new Forth Bridge wearing the latest version. It is a wet suite with water locks in the ankles and protects against cold shock as well as giving flotation. Bit like a thermal boiler suite.
