If you want to have a look

Tried a search on here just in case.
Came up with some nice hand cleaner and skin care products:rolleyes:
The Questioner wants to try and avoid antifouling!
Yeh, I know I know.
Scenario is two planing hulls ( 25ft rib an a 20 plastic boat) that can be retrieved easily from time to time
But will sit on drying moorings at springs to soft mud.
From now till Jan.
Any thoughts or experiences gratefully recd

It sounds similar to a product sold over here for a while called Marine Silk. Sprayed from a pressure pack onto the under water sections of, say a trailer boat who wanted to stay in the water for several weeks at a time.
A guy, quite a fussy owner, brought several cans just for this purpose in our fresh/brackish estuary waters but found the waxy, sticky residue damned hard work to get off afterwards, once back on the trailer. You would probably need to slip the boat and get her up on blocks for a clear go at the keel area, with a solvent based cleaner.

The product is off the market down here according to the local chandler, so I guess from that not a success.

Cheers, thanks for that Andy
Funny enough I,ve heard of that Marine Silk stuff, wondered where it went!
Haven't trawled through the website properly yet
I did notice however a 'money back' section.
It's an interesting theory.
These vessels will live in a totally salty enviroment by the way

I did notice however a 'money back' section.

The money back warranty is for 90 days from purchase. I would want my antifouling to last longer than that.

Also, it appears to require the boat to be used regularly to prevent growth on the hull. Most boats are laid up for about half of the year so this could render it ineffective. On the other had, they do say that it should be reapplied annually.

Ah, 'The Sting' will peruse the web site properly today
Can,t work me backs gone:mad:

Oh, incidently I did notice that bit yesterday ref the boats 'movements', the craft will be used very regularly at least 16 hours a week collectively.
Cheers Dave
