Hi,

Does any one have photos of a Stephen Jones keel on a post 1988 Sadler 34 .
I am trying to understand the design and construction of the keel and the material used for the the keel bolts.
I was told the keel has a heavier and wider foot, with a slimmer top attached to the hull. Can any one explain the construction or
point me to an online resource.

Thank you in advance,
R

Probably not a good place to ask. Suggest you try the Sadlers owners association, Mike Lucas Yachting who is a Sadler specialist or indeed Stephen Jones himself uk.linkedin.com/in/stephen-jones-6461a035

Not sure if these add much...
In common with her smaller sisters, the 34 has changed remarkably little over the years. However, the new Stephen Jones designed deep and shallow fin keels, with their improved hydrodynamics and lower centre of gravity have added even more power and performance, and will help the Sadler 34 to keep setting the pace for many years to come.

From about 1990, there was a variation of the deep fin keel available for the Sadler 34. The keel was designed by Stephen Jones and effectively put the centre of gravity some 4" lower and draft
was increased to 5' 10". This was achieved by making the keel narrower near the top and wider at the bottom. In fact, Andrew Bray had the first of these keels fitted and he expressed enthusiasm
for the improved stiffness and windward performance of his Sadler 34 "Dash".
