Sadler 32 Heads Door

Having recently purchased a Sadler 32 I'm aware that there is no door seperating the heads from the focsle berths, to save any blushes I've been scratching my head to come up with a straightforward way of ideally having a door installed but due to the angle of heads and size of the focsle entrance I'm struggling to come up with a solution. I suspect others may have mused over this problem before and would be grateful for any ideas !

Just rewired a 29 and while we were doing it, the chippy made a fwd door with a "kink" in it, fitted a treat. may be back on the boat later this/early next week so I will try to take a photo

Sadler32 Heads Door

A simple fix would be to have a heavy curtain on a track,cuts down the claustrophobic effect when usng heads, or the forward berths.
I do have a door to the for'd cabin that doubles as the heads door;when fully open it closes off the heads compartment, but it makes the area very small for ,say a 6ft person ,in there.
But a curtain across would be easy to do.

Do you have any photos ? I would imagine that both doors would be closed when using facilities so surprised room an issue unless I've misunderstood. Thanks for response

our 29 has the door between main cabin and heads and a drop curtain between heads and forepeak-
we seem to hardly ever use the drop down curtain-
the door closing off main cabin much more important !!!
very occasionally a quick call of "get your fingers in your ears and hide under the covers i need the loo " seems to do the trick-
much to the disgust of teenage daughters and friends !!!!
related problem-
a mate and i tied up in small harbour were suddenly unable to access the heads and forepeak-
i thought he'd bu**ered the lock-but he hadn't-
we had dried out and the hull must have slightly changed shape jamming the door shut!!!

Heavy Curtain

Would go along with this suggestion of a heavy curtain.

On my old Halcyon 27, the heads was closed off by two folding doors. The doors folded in half when stowed.

Yes, I didn't explain properly.The door to the main saloon is also the same door to the heads compartment.When the main dorway is open the heads is closed of by the same door. This is done by the door being inside the forecabin and the hinges on the door affixed to the bulkhead on the starboard(heads compartment side)so that closing one opens the other- no folding door,just the two apertures being the same or nearly the same size and shape.
The door overlaps the entrance from inside the forward cabin,by about an inch all round the frame,likewise the loo door frame,so no need for very accurate recessing of the door. I didn't fit the door its as built by Westerly. I'm sorry I don't have a photo,but most Westerlys are done like this.Hope this helps.

Sadler 32 doors

We have two doors seperating main saloon, heads and forepeak.
See photo - the forepeak door is a bifold which folds back onto the wardrobe. The saloon door also folds back onto wardrobe.
I am on boat this weekend so hopefully will take a photo of the hinge arrangements.

We have two doors seperating main saloon, heads and forepeak.

We have the same on our, The previous owner made it, it's n ottoo strong, but it works, there is just enough room for it to fold away behind the normal heads door.

it has two panels and a piano hinge down the middle

The only problem with out is the door frame squeeks as we're sailing just to a very slight movement...something I've still got to sort out
