I have a problem that I hope some-one out there can help with. The table latches on my Sadler 26 were replaced by a previous owner and the table fixed in position. I want to use the cabin double berth for friends (table drops to form double berth), and need to find some removable latching system for the table. Does anyone have a description or photo of the original system so that I can get a replacement fabricated? Or ideas for a replacement?

You might have better luck on Mike Lucas's Sadler forum here

The hull side end fittings are plastic which locate by holding the table vertically, which when rotated to the horizontal lock in place so that the table can't fall out of its location points(x2). the inboard end is a hinged leg which locates in the grooved moulding in the cabin sole in line with the the two dinette locker seats, and supports the table in the horizontal.

The hinged extension flap is held in place by two small circular plastic 'hedgehogs' which press into their counterparts on the vertical side of the hinged leg when in the table position.

If Mike Lucas' website forum can't help then try Andy Middleton who still has the moulds for the Sadler 25 and can provide bits and pieces for 25's and 26's as well as a complete boat

I might have a couple of the wall fittings, PM me with your address and if I have you can have then, then you only need get the bits for the table.

I bought a Sadler 26 last year with broken table mounts so the table was in the permanent "berth" position. I made the table demountable using the original (broken) plastic "ledges" and brass casement window fasteners from Screwfix. These hold the table horizontally into the plastic ledges - a few turns of the knurled nuts and the table can be lowered - works fine.
PM me if you need more details.

I do indeed have two of these, anyone want them for free!

When we had a Sadler 26 we replaced the table fixings-Sadler didn't have any in stock at the time, fortunately for us-so we went to a local caravan dealers and bought identical fittings (well, brown rather than cream) for a tenth of the price. Worth a search.
