Sacrificial strip

We are replacing the sacrificials our Genoa and Staysail, DIY. What Is the best material to use, weight, material etc and who is the best supplier.TIA

Most people recommend Sunbrella Marine fabric

I would recommend Weathermax ,it very easy to handle .
We haven’t had to replace any Weathermax strips inthe last 10 yrs .
The red fades a bit.
Acrylic canvas is a bit heavy these days .Would be better for long distance sailing on larger boats .

As others have said sacrificial doesn't last as its name implies use something better.

Check out the WeatherMAX PSA LT and the WeatherMAX PSA 80 here at the link below. PSA is the adhesive backed version. Makes it a lot easier to stick down before sewing. 80 and LT refer to the weight.

Sunbrella is often used but I prefer Odyssey which lighter. Worked well for me for the last few Transat crossings although I have replaced it twice!

I've bought mine from Pointnorth - can't remember the type, just used the recommended type. Get some double sided tape for fixing in position before sewing, can't remember the name but Pointnorth sell it. I also used a hot knife cutter to cut so the edges are fused so they do not fray.
