sabre

Hi,
Just had a lovely couple of trips out this weekend in my Sabre and it confirms my confidence in the boat.
Get a decent survey done on any boat you're interested in , and THEN make a solid offer based upon your budget and what repairs/updating of the vessel are required. The inventory will be a personal thing but you must stick to a budget that gives you proper safety equipment and a reliable engine and ground tackle etc. Due to the age of these now the survey may pick up some problems, mine has marks on the rudder suggesting the tangs require looking at, I asked the surveyer to comment on this and other things I noticed and his report gave me the basis of a work sheet for the year. Some jobs required attention straight away and others can be left till the year end. Whatever decision you make I suggest have a good look at the vessel yourself, with a knowledgable devils advocate if possible, and look at that survey with open eyes and your wallet in mind.
Good luck.
