I've just bought an Elizabethan 31 with a Sabb 2h 18hp engine fitted, information seems a bit hard to find on this engine type, does anyone have any experience with these engines and are spares readily available?
Jeff.

I have one of these engines Ive been very happy with it but now need a new one. If anyone in The UK has a 2H or spares Particularly a cylinder head please let me Know.

Sorry I should've updated everyone. I found a cylinder head. the engine is now rebuilt. its running nicely.
My problem was a 1976 engine having been used in salt water with a raw water cooling system. the head was rusted through.

I came here today looking to find anyone with experience adjusting the governor.
I have fitted a rev counter and realize the engine runs up to 2500 RPM with no load. Slightly faster than the specified 2250
In gear it can only manage 1500 rpm. the boat feels powerful enough, it can reach its hull speed easily enough and will run at full throttle for hours on end.

my tickover is about 150rpm which the manual says should be 300.
the manual talks about a screw to limit full speed and another to adjust tick over.
. As you may know the engine can only be stopped by turning the governor2h govenenor.JPG fully anticlockwise
Before I start fiddling I had hoped to find someone that knows what can go wrong.
Another thing I did. I fitted new injectors, the top speed has dropped a hundred revs but no smoke. I'm guessing the old injectors were so worn they were over fueling, giving more power ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who know.
