Noticed yesterday that every now and again the water pump would give a little grunt, as though it is losing pressure. Im sure it didnt do this before. Is the most likely cause a small leak? It isnt very often, maybe twice all day but i cant remember it having done this previously.

we always leave our water pump switched off until we need to use it and then turn it off afterwards.
We used to get a small leak that would make its way into the rear cabin, but by leaving the pump off, we haven't had any trouble with leaks since

We had this when we had an S23. There are a couple of water pipes that run across the top of the engine (at the back) on fairly loose fasteners. They are the normal grey flexi type plumbing pipes you see in B&Q etc.

Ours dropped a bit and touched the engine which is hot enough to make a small hole. We then had the pump dropping in and out every so often. Ignored it for a while until I saw some water in the (normally very dry) tray under engine.

Pretty easy to check and fix.

Worth a check!
