About to fit a sea water strainer. I have an S120 saildrive. Anyone know what size of strainer I will need. I.E. how many litres per minute does it draw. Thanks

Agreed it certainly does, but as it's only a small one I suggest that the standard Vetus "bucket" types where you can unscrew the top and clean the filter easily are very good and well big enough. If you are doing the mod I think you are doing installing a filter from the outlet pipe on the saildrive to the engine where often they go direct to the engine via a rubber pipe thats an excellent idea and I have done exactly the same on my little Volvo10HP wing engine which has a 120 sail drive.

For no reason other than curiosity I checked my VP 2003 (freshwater cooled) last year. Raw-water flow thru the heat-exchanger was about 10 litres per minute at 2000 rpm. Seems adequate, engine never overheats.
