Any help appreciated. Can anyone give me any information on a sparkman & stephens designed she 27. apparently it was design 2065, but i cannot find any info anywhere. Any help appreciated.

I viewed one of these a couple of years ago.

It is a very pretty boat but in my opinion more suited for day sailing than cruising as it had no cockpit lockers and limited accommodation below. In fact the chap who owned her used her in just that way for familiarising his grandchildren with a keelboat

The boat was for sale at about £11k but it remained unsold for many months in spite of its good looks.

Have a look at http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/ABS038/

Also a PBO second look review of Feb 1994 P.72 is available from the PBO copy service

Re: S&S SHE27

There is one on the Clyde - She She.

She is regularly raced offshore. I been involved in the same races and have been through some tough weather. She She always does extremely well - and I seen her stand up to some big seas without any problems whatsoever. Great boat.

You can have a look at her racing record on the Clyde Cruising Club website.

Regards

Donald

Re: S&S SHE27

Bootiful boat. Really nice lines. (much nicer than the She31)
Raced one in the solent for a season or two. (many years ago)
Sails upwind like a dream... Burys her nose downwind if you not carful.(Remarkable how sudden the broach can be wiv no rudder in the water /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Tiny inside
Some patches of the deck were very "soggy" (No idea if thats a common problem)

The SHE 31b has really nice lines, too!!

You really have have to be an S and S 'anorak' to tell the 27 and 31b apart from a distance.

Other SHE's used the same hull, but with a different coachroof, which is nowhere near as pretty.
