Anybody know where I can get a gypsy for 8 mm chain for this windlass? I have a gypsy for 10 mm chain but would like to change to 8 mm. Anybody fancy a swop?

I bought a 5/16" galvanised one from Yacht Parts Plymouth (tel. 01752 252489) in July '02. I believe they bought the stock from SL when they went out of business. I paid £130 inc delivery and VAT! I have not fitted it yet as I am still using 10mm chain but I was considering having a longer length of 5/16" chain when it is ready for replacement.

The Lewmar site has a section on S-L windlass's. I know it has all the spares listed for the S-L 510 Hi-Speed.
I have some spares for the 510 including the main casing (no cover plate) some cogs, gypsy and rope drum. I rebuilt one out of two, so these bits remain. In fact, it only needs some chains, the cover plate and tufnol bearings to be a goer.

Thanks for the info. I will give them a ring and see if they csn supply me the same.
I also wish to put a longer length of 5/16 chain on as currently only have 7 metres of 10mm.
