Currently visiting Ryde. What a gem. Of course you need to be able to take the ground or tie to the wall. But more beach than you could ever want. “Ticket to Ryde” free live music and with reasonably priced drinks.
There is a scooter rally (not my thing) but they all seem happy and in holiday mood. Friendly staff and easy going attitude all round.

visit my harbour gave the place a pretty poor review. Sure the facilities are basic and you have to do your tidal calcs, but tbh I wish I’d come years ago.

I agree, we found it quite charming and a lovely place to visit. A lot of peeps cannot cope with drying out and having to adjust the lines etc.

Any comments on current depth?would a 1.4 m long keel boat able to dry out get in and out at HW? I tried earlier in the season but a sand bar seemed to have developed to the port side of the entrance but has it been dredged? or I understand more water to starboard of the buoyed channel?

There is a second channel about 50m to the west of the marked one, which has more water. I would call the HM because I heard a rumor that drying out on the wall is not currently allowed. But I don’t know if this is a fact or not.
