RYA training in North West UK

Can anyone recommend RYA training centre either in North Wales or North West. Looked through the registered ones but without any experience of these establishments you kinda take pot luck. Hoping someone has used one and can recommend. Done the boring shore based stuff and need to get the practical asap.

I did Powerboat Level 2 at Conwy School of Yachting at Conwy Marina over two days of one on one tuition on my own boat.

I got from absolute novice to competent (almost) in no time at all

I'm based in Cheshire and have used a number of excellent RYA Training Centres based locally.

I guess it depends on what course you want to do but I have done a Powerboat level 2 course (inland) at Errwood Reservoir near Buxton. I have done a VHF course in Woodford near Stockport. I did my Dayskipper course at Knutsford and my daughter has done her Dinghy Sailing (lev 2) course at Abersoch.

Proffessional powerboat training Pwllheli

Never heard anything bad about them, Dave Snelsons son trained with them at New Year, Dave had good things to say about his sons experience.

Thanks for that, looked up site but they do not seem to do yachtmaster courses or even day skipper only seems to be powerboat stuff.

Do they do other course not stated?

I was going to respond, but when I saw your boat I guessed you were looking for YM. We concentrate on powerboat qualifications. I will be running DaySkipper therory courses out of Southampton later in the year. assuming of course I pass the Shorebased Instructor course which I do weekend after next! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

If you are prepared to go further north ( Argyll ) , I can fully recommend "SEATRECK" , they do the full range of courses and are excellant. If you want more detail please ask.
