I PASSED! :) I did it with Navathome, online, took me ages as I found all calculations rather not very exciting but thanks to Navathome’s excellent support I kept going and passed the exam apparently with 100% score.

I did Yachtmaster Offshore course and exam with them too a while ago. I can recommend both courses, online presentation of the courses is very good and you have an e-mail support with very quick response.

Is this subtle advertising?

I hated doing it online, no immediate feedback if stuck, clunky software, i swapped to a classroom course with real people to discuss the course with.

I did not have those problems, If I was stuck I scanned my work and sent it by e-mail with questions, got an answer within a few minutes. Worked for me.

However, I did Day Skipper theory in a classroom and fully understand what you mean, being able to interact with people around is more pleasant than sit at a computer screen. On the other hand you can do online version in small chunks as you have time and do not take time off work for the course.

It should not be, I am genuinely pleased to finish it. I have not posted anything when I did Yachtmaster Offshore.

Often people post something like 'no connection just a happy customer' to explain that there is no conflict of interest re advertising. When people have low post counts some get suspicious as to their motives occasionally.

Glad you had a good experience. I can see the benefit of online learning but I am not good at sticking at things to get a certificate. Once I know something I can't be bothered to get the bit of paper to be able to show it to others so class type learning is better for me.

I started to sail last autumn and joined here only recently, have not got much to say so far :)

I do courses to learn something, the exam at the end is to verify learned knowledge, the certificate is just an added bonus.

I used them for day skipper and YM offshore. Works great for me as I need the flexibility of working when time allows and am quite happy to study alone. I'll be using them again when it's time for ocean theory.

No connection just a happy customer. ;-)

Congratulations :)

What's next? Practical?

Thank you. Yes, I’ll do a qualifying passage and the verbal exam one day but I need to do Yachtmaster Offshore exam first. I am a bit ahead with the theory courses. I hope to pass Yachtmaster Offshore exam in October, already booked. What is going to be beyond that is still open.
