Kim,
Well done for all your work this evening.
Can I just make some, I hope, helpful suggestions;
First; speed, the speed of the forum was pretty slow, were you doing all the moderation on your own? If so maybe you need some help or the session needs to go on longer.
Second, perhaps the moderator should not also post. It could give the impression that you were takeing sides.
Finally, it may heve been a technical issue, but several posts critical of the RYA I put up disappeared, any comment?
Overall well done, lets do it again.

Q Was I doing all of the moderation on my own?
A Yes, although RYA assisted with extra machines and assistance with keying answers; my two fingers are fast but not that fast. I did consider taking a second moderator but decided against on this first take.

Q Should I have posted?
A Good question. Tried not to get too involved but the few occasions I dipped in it was mostly to assist the flow of info back, given time constraint. Plus couldn't resist the whisky one and also felt the serious one about mags and RYA working together deserved an answer from mag point of view. Understand what you are saying though...kind of assuming that most of you have got to know me well enough to understand my motives but in fact there were a lot of new users there this afternoon so misunderstanding possible.

Q Where were your follow-on posts?
A Still there and I have the whole board to read through to see what threads and posts I skipped or missed. However, was really trying to max out on a broad range of questions and answers and so apologies to anyone whose comments didn't initially see the light of day.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm certainly up for further sessions. The RYA will no doubt take a look and then let us know whether it wants to go again. There was some comment at the end that perhaps it should hold similar sessions on its own website but for understandable reasons I'd like to see it happen here.

Interesting that they have made the comment about doing the same on their own website.

I can fully understand you wanting further sessions to occur here, but it would make for a very interesting experiment...how many people would turn up? I'm fairly certain that more people frequent this site on a regular basis than the RYA site, so they would have to advertise through their magazine, and other avenues such as IPC magazines <g>.

The cross section of participants compared to here would also be of interest. I'm guessing, but most people likely to take part in a live forum on the RYA's own forum, are far more likely to be RYA positive in the first place, unless dissidents spread the news, and small groups can be very vocal and active.

Good luck to them, but encourage them to come back here anyway, as they will be capturing a very different audience I suspect
