Since the well supported thread 'Keith Hill Shipping Minister is.......' and Deckmaster posting which explained why RYA in this matter resembled Uriah Heep, has the RYA backed off?
The Association statement on latest likely clauses in the Bill seems to have disappeared from the RYA web site after only about 24 hours and is replaced with stale stuff published many months ago about general policy on alcohol at sea/ on board.
One suspects what was put out a day or two ago has been queried within the organization; in any case, after reading it several times it was difficult to make entire sense of it.
The main point about the specific proposed legislation is not so much its effect on sailors, but the utter waste of taxpayers' money, civil service time, police time and so on.
