RYA Accounts - came through today, quick question :D

Hi

It appears that in place of my Monthly RYA mag i received the RYA's accounts (may not be instead of mag)

There is an extra attatchment which is a voting card for the new Personal Member chairman or something along those lines (sorry do not have it to hand) and I was just wondering what that actually is and whether i should vote etc

Any info would help please /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If the new Personal Member role is that of a fat cat with a large expense account and entrance to all the exclusive do's and the America's Cup in 2007 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif then believe me I'm the man for the job. I've driven mobo's and sail so I think I'll be perfect for the job - I can sit on the fence and opt not to make any decision that would upset anyone on the forum /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

lol well apparently there is four people to choose from who all seem to look very happy so I'm sure there are some benefits from the 3.7mil profit that the RYA made this year, compared to last years something like 2.6mil /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Having been on the RYA Council as a representative of the Personal Members, some years ago, I can assure you that the only "fat cats" are those that have got there outside the RYA and regrettably the only expense accounts are reimbursement of travel which very few submit anyway!
So if you are looking for an easy ride at someone else's expense best to join one of the government Quangos.
