I recently had to saw through some rusty shackles to remove and replace them from my anchor chain. Stupidly (with hindsight) I did some of this over the deck and despite a careful clean up, I now have masses of rusty pin-head sized marks all over the deck. I have tried scrubbing with a few cleaners with some improvement but can't get rid of them completely. Can anyone help please?
Thanks, Phil

Hi,
Oxalic acid solution see previous posts
you can get the crystals on ebay
I got some rust stains out of a sail it works a treat
Hope this helps
forgot to add it is a strong organic acid and poisonous so take sensible precautions and handle with care.
regards
John

Oxalic acid based treatments will get rid of rust stains but not the tiny rust/iron particles. I've found very fine wet and dry (used wet) works quite well - 1000 or 1200 grit.

Bathroom limescale remover, preferably of the gel type. Cheap as chips and works. Squirt and leave on for about an hour and rinse off. If you want to spend more, Y-10 from a chandlers.

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago. Y10 did the trick very quickly and effectively. I absolutely recommend it.
