Due to high levels and flows, the following locks are inoperable due to the river conditions:
Rushey Lock – lock sluices open to reduce impact of flooding
Shiplake Lock – water overtopping headgates

River Conditions
The whole of the River Thames is on red boards. When we are displaying these red ‘Caution Strong Stream’ boards on lock gates, we advise users of all boats not to navigate because the strong flows make it difficult and dangerous. Furthermore, boat wash can potentially cause damage to properties at risk of flooding.
We are receiving reports of boats that have come free of their moorings. If you are able to and only if it is safe to do so, we would recommend you check the condition of your boat and its mooring lines.
We would advise you to also check our latest flood warning information which can be found at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood
