How would i add another wire through the mast when both top and bottom ends of the mast are closed. All i have is to holes at the bottom and another corresponding two at the top, one for VHF, the other for the nav light.

How would the person who passed the wiring have done this ?

Sorry but i'm baffled !

Any help ? I'd like to install a wind instrument, the Clipper Wind or something like that.

Regards

Tyrone.

There are a number of problems here. The main one is how to prevent the wires snagging in the halliards and getting torn away. My mast is lined with polystyrene foam and the wires run between that and the mast. You may have a tube for the wires.
You may be able to get top or bottom of the mast off in the winter refit. Drill out the poprivets and tap cautiously - but on yyour own head be it.
Another possible procedure is to use one wire as a pull cord to pull through two more strings and use those to pull through the individual wires. Of course if the original wire breaks you are in a distinct quandary.
Seriously - I've done this and got away with it. I've also had the mast cap off too.

Drop a length of thin cord with a weight taped on the end (a nail or bolt) down from the top, then fish it out with a piece of wire with a hooked end at the bottom, then use it as a pull-through. I've done it!
My mast doesn't have internal halyards.

I use a 'Flat wire' which you can buy cheaply from an elctrical supply place/large B&Q. Electricians use them to run wires through conduits- it's basicaly like a thin, stiff measure tape with a spring/bobble thingy on the end to help it go round bends and comes on a reel. The are undr a tenner to buy, luckily, as I've lost mine.
(shove it up/down/through whatever space you want to run cable, tie cable or 'mouse' onto the end, pull back...)
