Running in aid of Children with cancer UK

Our marina managers wife has started running and has entered the London marathon. She is running in aid of Children with cancer UK.
11 years ago my then 18 month old, granddaughter was in hospital, for a month, then fortnightly blood tests for a year, for a mild form of leukaemia, so her appeal is close to my heart.

This was her appeal in our newsletter :-

For those of you that don't know me, I am in no way a runner In fact I have never run!! The only running I ever did was running to the front of the Next sale on Boxing Day!! But on the 1st August this year I bought my first pair of running shoes - EVER!!! I immediately caught the bug and crazily applied to run the London Marathon! I am delighted and proud to have secured a place in the London Marathon on 24th April 2016 for ‘Children with Cancer UK’.

I cannot even begin to explain because I don't know what a child or a mum or dad goes through when their child is diagnosed with cancer, but as a mother and an aunty I know how absolutely devastating it must be having to watch someone you love and cherish and who you protect with all your might fight cancer!! When an adult gets cancer it is heart-breaking but when a child is diagnosed it's just in-comprehensible!! 10 Children a day in the UK are diagnosed with cancer!

How you squeese that monster into that area is still a mystery to me. Couldn't they have given you a better berth? Albeit you'll lose the convenience of being so close to the bridge?
