I want to run my radar cable down inside the mast (currently the scanner is on the spreader and the cable is clipped to the outside of the mast).
I assume I just need to drill a (small) hole, use a rubber grommet to protect the cable, and protect the cable inside with conduit.
Is it as straightforward as that, or are there any precautions I should be taking.
(The mast is not currently fitted to the boat)

Make sure all the halyards are in and tight, so that nothing gets twisted. Have heard of feeding the cable, coated with contact adhesive and then letting it lay until the glue cures.

A lot of extrusions already have conduits in them - if you're lucky?
