Rugged Laptop

That doesn't look as rugged as some of the ones I've seen. The RYA examiner who did my exam last year had a "proper" military spec rugged laptop which had no moving parts, was a tablet, covered in 1/4" thick rubber stuff, water proof beyond IPX7, could be droped from 20ft onto concrete, and could be driven over by a dump truck. He stood on the LCD screen and it went all funny and distorted, but after about 5 minutes it returned to normal - perfect. He then put it in the sink with the washing water. He had C-MAP charts of the world on it with separate optional plug in bits like a hard disk, rollup rubber keyboard, and gps sensor. And it floats! The most impressive PC I'd every seen. I think the RRP was about $7000 - no wonder. It could be used in the cockpit of a racing yacht in an F10 with no risk.
