I am halfway through fitting s/h wheel steering kit that I bought from a nice guy on these pages. I know a lot of old hands don't like this idea and advise keeping a tiller but I have a disabled crew member who can't cope with the tiller.

Going well so far. However, before I cut the rudder tube to fit the quadrant, I need to source a seal of some sort to go between the rudder post and the tube. I wonder if anyone can help or advise.

Thanks

Thanks very much. I guessed thats what I needed, some sort of stuffing box. I can't see that I need an expensive stern shaft type seal but this may sound daft, I can't seem to find a supplier on the net. Do you know where I can get one? Or perhaps some sort of gland would do it?
