Some pictures of the dropped lower rudder bush. When pushed back up the play in the rudder goes. My question is which mastic/glue to use to keep it back in place. I've managed to clean the old stuff off using an angled dentist tool.

If it were me I would put a bead of epoxy under the top hat/on top of the rudder blade. That would physically prevent it from dropping.

The bearing on mine is held in place with a set screw.
When I wanted to increase the gap between the rudder and the skeg I used a B&Q nylon tap washer which I split across on one side and wiggled into the gap. It's been there 4 years showing no wear. Perhaps that would work here.

What boat? How much of a job to drop the rudder bearing in mind you either dig a rudder pit or lift the boat.

It's a Dromor Discovery 3000. Thanks for the replies. I'll put a few blobs of epoxy on the top hat and see how long that lasts.
