I've been on the boat all summer and increasingly spend my time dragging everything from fridges, garden chairs, waste oil, general rubbish in the forms of disposable barbecues ,portable toilets and drinks containers. I've just arrived at Shiplake to find a load more including a tent. I hope I can post the pictures. Very soon private land owners will ban mooring in these places.IMG-20170907-WA0014.jpgIMG-20170907-WA0012.jpgIMG-20170907-WA0010.jpgIMG-20170907-WA0008.jpgIMG-20170907-WA0014.jpg

Hurley banned BBQs, because idiots put them on the wooden tables and they burnt through.
I smelt burning plastic when we were there and discovered a boater sat next to his disposable BBQ totally obvlivious to the fact that he was putting a big square scorch mark on those nice EA pontoons.
Kingston council are considering banning boats from Queens Promenade. Yet again, the minority ruin it for everybody else

Having spent time clearing up this type of mess, I can say that it is often left by fisher folk of several nationalities and groups of youngsters. Boaters tend to put their rubbish in bags then dispose of in bins.

+1
The organised fishng clubs absolutely detest this sort of behavior and carry out litter collection.
Suspect most boaters hate to arrive somewhere and find the bank covered with abandoned plastic bottles/food containers, sometimes thoughtfully all put in plastic carrier bag and shoved in the bushes !.
Have in the past grabbed a black sack and attempted to clear the worst.
Judging from the debris,it is usually left by casual fisherman and on the whole its youngsters the worst culprits.
There has however been a noticeable decline in the number of plastic carrier bags left dangling from bushes and trees while energy drink bottles seem to be multiplying.

Personally would make every litterer be forceably made to endure entire albums of Frank Sinatra or Max Bygraves or even worse Micheal Bubble or whatever his name is. :)
