Rubber paint for rubbing strake?

The rubbing strake on my Mirage 2700 is a rubber extrusion which was probably brick red when new. Over the years it has faded to a pale pink and I would like to smarten it up with a coat of paint. But what paint? As it is now pale I am thinking about tyre whitewall paint. I don't want black. Any ideas?
