Thanks for the info & link - I have to confess I've asked the question on behalf of my husband - he's now living aboard (minus internet connection) whilst I enjoy (?) the last week of unlimited internet access from work.
I'll print out the doc & see what the follow on questions may be tomorrow morning!
Maybe your fella is looking for a program to 'suck' the SSB signal into his PC. I use JVComm32 It's a free download although it has "Demo" written on the results unless you subscribe.
Yes I agree. The JVComm32 free prog. is excellent, and we use it for weatherfax. But for RTTY, we prefer MMTTY. This is another free download (just Google for it) and has the advantage that the display is full screen and the lettering/background colours can be to your choice. These facilities mean the text is much easier to read (especially when tired) particularly if you use a black text on a yellow background as we do.
Well worth a look anyway, /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Yep - he's feeding the SSB signal into his laptop, so JVcomm32 sounds like it's the one he needs. How much is the subscription - or do you live with Demo written on the output??
I'm a skank so live quite happily with DEMO written on the results which doesn't get in the way at all. Following Jerry's thread (keep in with Jerry, he can solve all your SSB/weather problems!) I might just try MMTTY.

Recently got MScan Lite with a Nasa HF3 receiver. I have found it very user friendly. Could not get JVComm to work with my laptop, although I did not try too hard, as I found it not as user friendly as MScan.

I take it all back Mscan has a huge block across the results saying UNREGISTERED PLEASE UPGRADE which makes it unuseable unless you register (which I assume means paying out) I'm sticking with JVCom32
Not sure why everyone is so anti-paying for a program. If you can't write one yourself then you have to pay someone else to! Seems good value to me - nice to have the chance to try before you buy with these programs too.
