Royal Naval Unarranged Visit

RN Lynx helicopter made a forced landing on the beach at Calshot yesterday evening, it didn't want to stay in the air anymore

repaired today and returned to duty.

The flight crew were exceptionally hospitable towards the visitors to their downed machine, allowing the kids at the centre to have a look around their craft, even let me within 4' of the machine (but no photos) especially in these days of terrorist worried w4nkers from Whitehall. Full marks to Flight Lieutenant Crash and Flight Lieutenant Burn. no names, no pack drill. thank you for the look around.

They landed on a grassy knoll, but no-one got hurt, or shot

Last one I was in certainly did, but it was army so maybe the RN ordered a different spec.

good point, It looked as though the tail piece is hinged so can be folded back on it's self to pack it away on smaller ships/or transport perhaps?
