Royal Harwich YC

King Edward III managed to get his fleet in there

I reckon the channel is moving for sure, I know I didnt actually have a season last year but the channel up towards the A14 road bridge seems very different. I also can log our first touch o the bottom just off the down stream hammerhead at RHYC. Depth sounder started winking at 3.8m then mysteriously we lost steerage and a perfect pivot stern to windward confirmed the lump was found. I am fairly sure it won't be the last but 3hrs into the flood I had not expected that. Maybe I am just getting my head around our new draft!!!!!!!! Aprt from that we had a great head sail down river with F6 gusts blowing through. Great hot choc aboard Melissa and a check out of the club development!

Wow, has anyone seen what's going on at the RHYC? Not a small case of having the builders in, total rebuild time. Do hope it was intended and not as a result of some misfortune.

As said, it was planned.

I see you're based at Woodbridge. They were piping the mud out again on Saturday. The new 'shed' there is coming on nicely too.

Live there but keep boat on the Blackwater where there's a bit more water and less mud. Anyway my pocket isn't deep enough for the Tidemill even though its within spitting distance.

New 'shed'?

Have you tried Granary? Afloat 24/7 and tide access is better than Tidemill, quieter and cheaper. The staff are very friendly and it has a nice East Coast boatyard feel to it. But agree that the Deben is a narrow muddy river.

You were definitely aground on Saturday :D

High and dry without a drop under her keel. Come on April 1st!

Sand whole underwater
Prime two coats on same
Antifoul two coats on same
Two new anodes
Sand and coat rubbing strakes
Recommission engine then we go in

Not much of a list is it :(

At least we'll be in for three seasons, then the whole darn process restarts.
