Anyone know when this is this year? Cant see anything on the SYC website about it.

Never done it before but would like to enter it this year. Is it open to anyone?

It'll be open to everyone but you'll probably need an IRC rating, which you can get from the RORC.

Great race, really fun. Not sure if they still have the Navy to escort them over, if they do, try and get a ride. When we did the race in 1991/2 it was HMS Pursuer but think it's Ranger now.

IIRC, open to SYC members and Sussex based boats. (Not open per se)
If you haven't got a "cost lots of money" handicap, don't worry as provision is made for the more Corinthian participants.

Consider the "Opting Motor Sailor", prizes are good and there's a chance you can get there before the sad sacks who take it seriously.

Great fun highly recommended, but be prepared to raft, and booking restaurant before you go is sensible.

If you start motor sailing very early on not only do you have a good chance of arriving first you also might have the longest corrected crossing time and therefore could win a 'booby' prize! Or so I understand? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
